Every year, Australian motocross athletes gather for the nation’s premier motocross competition: the ProMX Motocross Championship. This year is no exception, with the adrenaline-pumping action already underway — much to the delight of Australian motocross fans.

Whether you’re already tuned into the excitement or you’ve missed a couple of chapters, this guide has everything you need to know about the 2025 season so far and what’s left to look forward to.

A Midway Recap of the 2025 ProMX Championship Season

In case you’ve missed anything, here’s a recap of the Australian motocross action so far, including the first four race results and athlete standings across the competition’s four main classes: MX1, MX2, MX3 and MXW.

Race Results

From heart-racing rivalries to nail-biting finishes, the first half of the 2025 ProMX Championship season has delivered unforgettable moments.

Round 1 — Wanthaggi, VIC

Date: 22–23 March 2025

The 2025 ProMX Championship started with a bang, with 2024 head-to-head competitors, Jed Beaton and Kyle Webster, battling it out at the front of the MX1 division. After a dramatic second-race crash forced Webster to retire, Beaton emerged victorious and secured a 10-point championship lead.

In the MX2 class, defending 2024 champion Brodie Connolly came out with his guns blazing, comfortably winning both races.

Despite a frustrating initial qualifying round, Ky Woods was able to bounce back and win both MX3 races.

Meanwhile, in the MXW class, multi-time champion Charli Cannon delivered a showstopping performance and secured the overall round win. Her victory also led Team Australia to victory in the FIM Oceania Women’s Motocross Cup.

Round 2 — Appin, NSW

Date: 13 April 2025

By round two, Kyle Webster made it clear he wasn’t relinquishing his title without a fight. After his disappointing DNF in Wanthaggi, Webster executed a stunning clean sweep, placing first in both races of the day.

While Brodie Connolly handily won the first MX2 race, the second race delivered its fair share of drama. After a tangle between two other riders, Connolly rejoined the track after veering off it. He was penalised for course-cutting and demoted to third despite finishing first. Although the penalty was reversed shortly after the race, it was eventually reinstated, passing the victory to Ryder Kingsford.

Meanwhile, his brother, Kayd Kingsford, had a successful showing in the MX3 division. Despite losing the first race to Ky Woods, he turned the tables in the second and won by 13 seconds.

Round 3 — Gillman, SA

Date: 27 April 2025

Although Kyle Webster secured another victory in the first MX1 race, the second was cancelled midway due to Joel Evans’ tragic single-bike crash.

In the MX2 and MX3 classes, brothers Ryder and Kayd Kingsford both claimed the top spot on their respective podiums. Ryder secured a 2-1 finish, while Kayd achieved a perfect 1-1 finish.

The MXW class was back in action, with Charli Cannon continuing her win streak. Taylah McCutcheon came in second place while Taylor Thompson rounded out the podium.

Round 4 — Traralgon, VIC

Date: 25 May 2025

If round four was any indication, the Kyle Webster-Jed Beaton rivalry isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Both MX1 athletes claimed a race victory, keeping each other on their toes as they continue to vie for the championship title.

In the MX2 class, Brodie Connolly executed a motocross masterclass, winning both races by a wide margin.

Meanwhile, Kayd Kingsford cemented his championship lead in the MX3 division, thanks to his 1-1 finish.
