Below you can get all the details on our tournament series and the All-Star game itself. Play ball! What is Major League Baseball’s All-Star Weekend?Like any all-star game, it’s a showcase of the league’s biggest talents of the year. You’ll see the most productive sluggers, the most lethal pitchers, and the most astounding athletes the game has to offer. This year, it’ll be hosted in Seattle with games played at T-Mobile Park. How does a player become an all-star?Through fan voting! And unlike the NBA, which is 50% determined by players and press, MLB relies heavily on the fan vote. The top vote-getters in each league (AL and NL) automatically start. For other players, it’s a head-to-head race in each position between the top two players garnering the most votes. Pitchers and reserves, however, are not left to fans, and get in on a player vote. What events happen on MLB All-Star Weekend? On June 29th, starting rosters are revealed (7 p.m. on ESPN).
